The connection
The bridge creates a domestic road link across Brunei Bay. Official tourism information describes a 30-kilometre dual carriageway opened in March 2020. Its practical value is that a road journey to Temburong can use this connection instead of the older route through Limbang. The bridge's length is not the distance from your Bandar Seri Begawan hotel to a lodge, and it should not be turned into a fixed door-to-door transfer time.
Choosing the service
Choose the destination within Temburong before choosing transport. Bangar, a river lodge and the departure point for a national-park programme are different endpoints. A driver taking you across the bridge has not necessarily agreed to the onward boat journey, guided activity or overnight arrangement. Share the accommodation or operator's precise meeting point, and confirm whether the vehicle stays, returns later or provides a one-way drop-off.
Arrival arrangements
Some hosted programmes arrange pickup from capital hotels. Freme's published information distinguishes package inclusions, including differences for resident and non-resident bookings, so verify your own booking rather than borrowing another package's terms. The Abode Resort and Freme Rainforest Lodge are separate properties with their own access arrangements. This road profile does not establish a scheduled public bus across the bridge or a fare for a private transfer.
Planning the next step
For a day visit, organise the return journey before leaving the capital and fit it around the actual activity finish. For an overnight stay, confirm meal and check-in arrangements at the property. Weather and river conditions can affect activities even when the road connection is usable. The bridge makes Temburong easier to reach; entry to forest programmes, guide arrangements and any river travel remain separate parts of the itinerary.
