A public waterfront

The promenade is a recreation space rather than a harbour tour. Its appeal is the open view and the opportunity to spend time outside between other city stops. It is distinct from Tanjung Batu Beach and from operating port facilities; identify the public entrance instead of following any road that appears to reach the water.

An unhurried walk

Use the cooler part of the day for a comfortable walk. A sunset can be rewarding when the sky cooperates, but it is not guaranteed. Bring water and choose a turnaround point that leaves time to return before conditions or visibility worsen. Keep clear of any closed or restricted sections.

Fit it into a city day

Pair the walk with a market visit or meal, allowing a separate transfer where needed. Do not assume every waterfront segment forms one continuous pedestrian route. For onward travel, agree a clear pickup point with your driver and keep the airport journey separate from the end of the walk.
