Tanjung Lobang and Taman Selera

Miri meets the sea at Tanjung Lobang. The Taman Selera recreation area suits a coastal walk and a meal without leaving the city behind.

A local seaside park

Miri City Council identifies Taman Selera as a longstanding city recreation park, with a seaward pier, play facilities and a seafood centre. It is an urban shore with everyday visitors, not an isolated island beach.

Give the coast time

Leave room to stroll and watch the changing light rather than scheduling only a photograph. Shade, a drink and a weather check make the outing more comfortable. Sunset depends on clouds; the coast remains worth considering without a guaranteed clear horizon.

Walk according to conditions

Use accessible public paths and follow any local barriers. A promenade visit does not establish that the sea is safe for swimming. If wind or rain strengthens, shorten the walk and move to shelter. Ask what is available before choosing a seafood meal.
