Overview
Erau is a specific Kutai tradition, not a generic label for every cultural celebration in Kalimantan. Its sultanate context distinguishes it from the Kenyah living heritage presented in Pampang. A visitor can connect both places through a regional journey while keeping their histories and cultural authorities separate.
Traditions
Government festival information distinguishes ceremonial sequences and public celebration. Names such as Beluluh, Bepelas and Belimbur refer to particular practices, not interchangeable entertainment. Follow local explanations about who participates and which parts visitors may observe; a photographed ceremony is not permission to repeat it.
