Appearance & recognition
Combretocarpus rotundatus is a wetland tree with winged fruits, belonging to Anisophylleaceae. Its native range centres on Sumatra and Borneo. The name marapat is recorded in Ngaju usage; keruntum is recorded in Brunei and Sarawak. Keeping those regional names attached to their sources avoids treating every Bornean community as if it used the same vocabulary.

PROSEA · Combretocarpus — PROSEA botanical accountMaterials & other uses
PROSEA documents its timber use, including construction. In Brunei it is also part of the peat-swamp forest assemblage, beside terentang. This combination of material value and wetland ecology makes it relevant to both livelihoods and restoration. Timber use describes an established application; it does not imply that felling trees in protected peat forest is appropriate.
