Follow the ingredients
PPM is an active trading centre with wet and dry market areas documented by the local government. Browse at the pace of the stalls rather than treating it as a staged attraction. Ask a seller about unfamiliar produce, keep aisles clear and request permission before close photographs. The variety on a particular visit depends on the day’s trading, so there is no fixed tasting menu.
Choose a meal that day
Use the food guides to cassava-leaf kalumpe, young rattan shoots and Wadi as introductions to regional ingredients, then ask what nearby kitchens actually serve. These links do not promise that every dish is sold at PPM. A short market visit followed by lunch fits easily into a Sampit stay. Check the usable paths after heavy rain and ask your accommodation about current market access.
