Punggualas surveys recorded it in both 2015 and 2019. A Tahawa acoustic study documented nocturnal calling and detected it in heath-forest sampling sites. Its tadpoles have been described from stagnant water and flooded leaf litter in Borneo.

Published research has documented this species at Punggualas, Sebangau National Park; Tahawa Village Forest, Central Kalimantan. These observations provide a historical picture of its Bornean forest range.

Punggualas lies in the peat-swamp landscape of Sebangau National Park. Research in Tahawa Village Forest also recorded this frog in heath and peat-forest sampling areas.

Its sharply pointed snout helps distinguish this long-limbed tree frog. Adults perch one to two metres above ground near breeding water, and males can call from trunks. Reproduction is associated with stagnant forest pools containing leaf litter. The marbled tadpoles have a slender tail tip and hide beneath litter by day.
